デローザのロゴがハートの理由

デローザのロゴがハートのマークであることは誰もが知っていますが、なぜハートになったのでしょうか。その由来について創業者のウーゴ・デローザ氏自身が次のように語っています。
『選手達から、軽量化のためにボトムブラケットなどのパーツに穴をあけてほしいと言われたんだ。実は、これがデローザのハートマークの由来なんだよ。ボトムブラケットの裏とかラグに穴を３つ 三角形になるように空けて、その間を切り取ったら穴がハートの形になったんだ。ハートのロゴは我々の情熱を表していると言われるんだが、実は５グラムの軽量化という技術的なことから生まれたのさ。』
ハートのロゴが、軽量化に対するあくなき追求から生まれたというところが、職人ウーゴ氏らしいエピソードです。
ハートのロゴが誕生してから半世紀。今、デローザのハートマークは、デローザを愛するすべての人々の情熱と愛情のシンボルになっています。
